AGGIES DEFEAT ACU WILDCATS 8-0 IN SEASON OPENER

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas Aggies had an electric win over the ACU Wildcats in their season opener at Davis Diamond in College Station. The Aggies dominated with a score of 8 - 0. Here is the inning by inning breakdown of the gameday action.

From the very first pitch the Aggies made it clear that this game was theirs to control. The top of the first inning was all business for the Aggies’ defense. Pitcher Sydney Lessentine opened the game with a dominant stretch, recording multiple strikeouts. The inning concluded with a pop fly for the final outs, keeping ACU off the base paths.

In the bottom half of the inning, the Aggies generated early offense Kennedy Powell led off with a base hit and advanced aggressively, stealing second base before moving to third on an ACU error. Ariel Kowalewski was struck by a pitch, and Mya Perez followed with a hit to reach first. Micaela Wark and KK Dement continued the pressure with Dement reaching base on an ACU error to extend the inning.

The Aggies moved quickly through the top of the second inning on defense. Offensively, Paislie Allen provided a major highlight, launching a home run to give the Aggies a strong advantage early in the game.

In the third inning defensively Frankie Vrazel secured a pop fly to close out the top of the third inning. In the bottom half, Mya Perez reached base, followed by Micaela Wark, who singled to first. KK Dement added a key hit that advanced Wark to second base. Tallen Edwards earned a walk, and catcher Maddie Sauni stepped to the plate as the Aggies continued to build momentum.

In the top of the fourth, Kennedy Powell made a clean defensive play at third base, fielding a hard-hit ball for an out. During the bottom half, Paislie Allen returned to the plate, and Powell followed with a solid hit to center field, reaching second base. Ariel Kowalewski added another at-bat as the Aggies maintained offensive pressure.

The top of the fifth inning featured an outstanding diving catch in center field by the Aggies to prevent a potential scoring opportunity. The Aggies then broke the game offensively. Mya Perez reached base with a hit to the outfield following an ACU error. Micaela Wark delivered a home run to extend the lead. Tallen Edwards followed with a deep hit to center-field wall, bringing in Dement. Edwards later successfully escaped a rundown. Additional contributions came from Lessentine, who reached second on a pop-up. Powell drew a walk, as well as Kowalewski. The Aggies scored four runs in the inning.

The Aggies made a pitching change in the top of the sixth, bringing in Taylor Pannell who helped keep ACU in check. In the bottom half, Perez added to the lead with a home run. Wark reached first base on a dropped pop fly, and Dement followed with a hit through the left side into center field.

The Aggies’ performance was marked by efficient pitching, consistent offensive production, and strong defensive execution. With contributions throughout the lineup, the team maintained control from the opening inning through the final frames to secure the win over ACU.
