TAMU WBB face crushing defeat against LSU 54-98

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Aggies faced off against their third top ten ranked team in a row against the LSU Tigers. The Aggies suffered a tough loss of 58-98 at Reed Arena.

In the first quarter the Tigers and Aggies were trading scores and creating turnovers to put the score at 8-9 with 4:42 left in the quarter.

In the second part of the quarter, the Aggies found much less success in converting turnovers, causing them to fall behind 12-21 at the end of the quarter.

The second quarter was much of the same with LSU winning the turnover game, however, the Aggies were able to have opportunities to shoot at the three point line, but were unable to convert on many of these opportunities, putting the Aggies at 22-41 at half.

The third quarter saw the Aggies improve their shooting game, which includes 3-pointers from Salese blow, Pien Steenbergen, Jordan Webster, and Lemayah hylton, as well as 8 points coming from Ny’Ceara Pryor. However the Tiger’s impressive shooting and turnover creation pulled them further ahead 41-78 after the third quarter.

The fourth quarter was characterized by a slower paced game, with the Tigers eventually taking out their starters halfway in the quarter, leading to the final score of 54-98.

The game had positive showings from Fatmata Jenneh with 14 points and 6 rebounds, including 2 3-pointers, as well as Ny’Ceara Pryor with 13 points and 6 assists. Ultimately the depth of LSU’s roster, with five players with over 10 points, led to the dominant victory over the Aggies.

With the hardest stretch of game over with, the Aggies look to turn their season around with a victory on Sunday against the Mizzou Tigers.
